Eurasian Blackcap

The Eurasian Blackcap usually known simply as the blackcap, is a common and widespread typical warbler. Both sexes have a neat coloured cap to the head, black in the male and reddish-brown in the female. In Jordan they prefer places with trees such as in Dana reservation, Azraq wet land reservation and mountains.


It swims well, and in flight looks heavy. The sexes of this species are identical in plumage but the male’s average slightly larger. There is a fair amount of variation in plumage tone, with some birds greyer and others browner, but this is not sex- or age-related.


This is a largely terrestrial species, which will also perch readily on trees and buildings. Egyptian geese typically eat seeds, leaves, grasses, and plant stems. Occasionally, they will eat locusts, worms, or other small animals.

أبو قلنسوة

طائر التين/طائر أبو قلنسوة هو طائر صغير الحجم يتنقل بسرعة من فرع لآخر، ينتشر في أماكن كثيرة من العالم وخاصة في حوض البحر الأبيض المتوسط، في الأردن يتواجد في عدة أماكن والتي بها أشجار من لواء الكورة بالشمال ولمحمية ضانا في الجنوب. ‏


ريش الجسد متشابه عند الجنسين بلون الزيتون الرمادي في المنطقة العلوية ورمادي شاحب في الأسفل ولكن ما يميزه لون ريش الرأس على شكل قلنسوة يكون لونه برتقالي محمر في الإناث والصغار وأسود لدى الذكور. يعتبر هذا الطائر من الطيور المهاجرة جزئياً من المناطق الباردة للدافئة.


 يتغذى أبو قلنسوة على الحشرات وفي الشتاء على الخبز والفستق.  ‏
